Overview

This competition invites students from Temple College/Texas A&M University Central Texas and UMHB to blend artistic creativity with industrial materials, leaving a lasting mark in a corporate setting while enhancing your portfolios and industry recognition. Participants will design a feature wall mural for the interior lobby of SeAH Superalloy Technologies, a new company emerging in Temple’s industrial park.

Your design will serve as a powerful visual testament to SeAH Superalloy Technologies’ unique identity, celebrating the harmonious fusion of South Korean heritage and Texan spirit. This artistic masterpiece will weave together multiple elements into a compelling narrative: the precision of advanced manufacturing processes, the sophistication of cutting-edge metal products and technologies, our steadfast commitment to social responsibility, the foundational value of trust, and our unwavering spirit of embracing challenges and driving change. Through this artistic endeavor, we aim to create a visual story that resonates with our employees, visitors, and stakeholders, embodying our commitment to excellence and cultural harmony.

The Rules

  • Designer must be enrolled for the Spring semester at Temple College/Texas A&M University Central Texas or UMHB to be eligible to enter.
  • There is no cost to the Designer for submission of a design and each Designer may submit a maximum of three (3) unique designs.
  • Proof of identification must be provided for the Designer to claim the prize. If multiple Designers submit a collaborative design, the Lead Designer must be recognized on the official SeAH Feature Wall Design Entry Form. 
  • College point of contact and winner will be announced on June 23. (2nd and 3rd places may be acknowledged but no awards or money will be given.) If possible, SeAH would like to present the award in person to the winner. However, if that is not logistically possible, SeAH will work out the award details with the winner. If the winner is able to attend a ceremony for SeAH to present the award, he/she should be dressed appropriately for a professional event and photos. 
  • While not required, SeAH also requests the winning Designer to attend the wall unveiling event at the SeAH facility in 1Q26 where he/she will be recognized for their work. He/she should be dressed appropriately for a professional event and photos. While not required, SeAH would like the winning Designer to speak briefly about their design. 
  • Designer agrees to release all ownership rights of the winning design to SeAH Superalloy Technologies.
  • All submitted designs and individual graphic components must be the original work of the submitting Designer. Do not swipe photos from the internet and use them. Designer may create your own artwork/illustration, take your own photography, or use free, royalty-free stock photography. If you choose to use stock photography, and it will be necessary to purchase the high resolution image, use the low resolution, watermarked file for now. If your design is chosen, SeAH will purchase the high resolution image(s) and the usage rights from the stock photography service. Be sure to note this in your narrative when you make your submission, along with the image number(s) and stock photography website.
  • All submitted designs should be socially responsible, i.e. not contain nudity, alcohol, demerit goods, or political messaging. Images should not display or promote harmful activity or violate the intellectual property rights of any another individual or organization. The submitting Designer will be held responsible for any litigation arising based on their choice of imagery in the submitted artwork.

Judging Criteria

All submitted entries will be judged based upon the following criteria:

Competition winner agrees to:

  • Commit to supporting and being available, for an appropriate number of hours, to collaborate with SeAH Superalloy Technologies and/or their designated representatives to implement any unexpected modifications or required adjustments to the winning design during the printing/manufacturing process. This may include technical consultations and design refinements.
  • Upload comprehensive, fully editable raw source files of the winning design to the SeAH provided Dropbox site before claiming the award. The Source Files must be submitted in an editable, professional-grade version of the artwork, including but not limited to editable RAW Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or other industry-standard design software formats, with all layers and elements intact.
  • Submit all required source files, supporting documentation, signed release forms, and other necessary materials to the SeAH provided winning Dropbox link within three (3) business days of receiving the official award notification. All files must meet professional quality standards and technical specifications.

Release of Design Intellectual Property Rights

Designer Release of all Ownership Rights: To the extent allowed by law, the Designer grants a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, nonexclusive, sublicensable, unconditional, and nontransferable ownership of the winning design to SeAH Superalloy Technologies, including the rights to edit, modify, cut, rearrange, add to, delete from, reproduce, store, modify, copy, transmit, publish, post, broadcast, display, adapt, exhibit, and/or otherwise use or reuse the artist’s entry, name, and biographical material, including, but not limited to, use for advertising, promotional, commercial, or any other purposes without further review, notice, approval, consideration, or compensation to the entrant or any third party. The determination of eligibility of entries and any interpretation of these rules is at the sole discretion of SeAH Superalloy Technologies and shall be final and binding upon all entrants. By participating in the competition, the entrant agrees to abide by and be bound by these rules.

SeAH Superalloy Technologies stakeholders will claim exclusive rights to the winning artwork. Final artwork should not be used, posted or manipulated for another use by any other parties. The Designer can no longer distribute the winning design, post on social media or any other public forum without preapproved permission. However, creative credit will be given to the Designer for their work.

By submitting a design, all Designers thereby agree that all entries may be used for contest related promotions, at SeAH Superalloy Technologies discretion, and when used, creative credit will be given to the Designer in any SeAH produced promotional materials.
